As spring breathes new life into the landscape, Pinghu City in east China’s Zhejiang Province is in full bloom, welcoming visitors from around the world to its annual Cherry Blossom Tourism Season.

The festivities are centered in Zhongxi, a quaint town in Pinghu, where over 20,000 cherry trees create a breathtaking canopy of pink and white blossoms. Alongside the cherry trees, a vibrant array of tulips, annual phlox, hydrangeas, and pink hairawn muhly bloom in succession, offering a continuous display of floral beauty.

Strolling through pathways lined with blossoming trees, visitors are encouraged to capture the scenic views with their cameras, immersing themselves in the tranquility and charm of nature. The event not only celebrates the natural splendor but also invites guests to partake in cultural performances, including traditional tea ceremonies, pipa instrument showcases, and folk dances.

This year, nearly 60 tourists from 18 countries joined the celebration, experiencing Pinghu’s rich heritage and international community. Among them is Hiroshi Ikeda from Japan, who has called Pinghu home for three years. “Seeing the cherry blossoms here makes me feel at home,” he shared. “This experience has deepened my connection to the city’s culture and history.”

Pinghu’s growth as a hub for Japanese and German enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region has fostered a diverse community where people from various backgrounds reside and interact. The Cherry Blossom Tourism Season serves as a bridge between cultures, highlighting the city’s openness and hospitality.

The event runs from March 21 throughout the spring season, offering a blend of sightseeing, cultural exchange, and shopping activities. It’s an invitation to embrace the beauty of spring and the warmth of Pinghu’s community.
