Ai Meets Tourism Robot Dog Patrols at Film Studio in Ningxia

Robot Dog Revolutionizes Tourism at Ningxia Film Studio

YINCHUAN, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region—Visitors to the Zhenbeipu Western Film Studio are now greeted by an unexpected sight: a robotic dog patrolling the historic sets. Dubbed the “Guardian of the Film Studio,” this high-tech marvel began its duties this June, marking a fusion of artificial intelligence and tourism.

Developed in collaboration with Unitree Robotics, a global leader in quadruped robots, the Guardian is no ordinary robot dog. Weighing in at 60 kilograms and standing nearly 1.1 meters tall, it’s four times heavier than standard entertainment robot dogs. Its impressive build offers enhanced stability and adaptability to the studio’s complex terrains.

Equipped with high-definition cameras, thermal imaging, and multi-modal sensors, the robot provides 360-degree real-time monitoring. It tirelessly patrols for 4 to 6 hours on a single charge and even recharges itself autonomously. Beyond security patrols, it handles power inspections and is ready for emergency responses, ensuring both safety and operational efficiency.

The integration of this robot dog has reduced labor costs by over 20 percent, all while offering visitors an immersive and interactive experience. Integrated into the studio’s smart management system, the Guardian is more than just a watchdog—it’s a glimpse into the future of smart tourism.

As AI continues to evolve, innovations like the Guardian showcase how technology can enhance cultural experiences and public safety, ushering in a new era for tourism destinations around the world.
