Rare Birds Flock to Nanchang’s Waters for Summer Fun

A colorful array of rare and protected bird species has been spotted diving and playing in the waters of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, reflecting the region’s rich biodiversity.

Among the feathered visitors are the dazzling bee-eater, white-throated kingfisher, and black-capped kingfisher. The blue-throated bee-eater, often hailed as the “most beautiful bird in China,” showcases its aerial agility by catching dragonflies, butterflies, bees, beetles, and other insects in midair.
