Young leaders from across Latin America gathered in Rio de Janeiro to discuss the evolving relationship between China and Latin America, aiming to foster stronger South-South cooperation. The roundtable, hosted by Wang Guan, focused on how youth can unite to build a fairer world and contribute to development in the Global South.
The discussion echoed this year’s G20 theme, “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet,” highlighting the crucial role of young people in shaping the future. Participants explored how reforming the global governance system can lead to a more stable and inclusive global economy.
“As young leaders, we have the responsibility to bridge gaps and promote understanding between regions,” said one participant. “The evolving ties between China and Latin America present unique opportunities for collaboration and mutual growth.”
The roundtable emphasized the shared aspirations of youth in both regions to create a more sustainable and inclusive world. By strengthening bilateral ties and embracing the growing influence of the Global South, these young leaders aim to drive positive change on a global scale.
