Protesters in Seoul Demand President Yoon’s Impeachment After Martial Law Attempt

Thousands of protesters gathered in front of the South Korean parliament in Seoul on Thursday, demanding the impeachment and arrest of President Yoon Suk-yeol. The demonstrations come in the wake of last week’s failed martial law attempt, which has plunged the nation into political turmoil.

Chanting slogans and holding signs, the protesters called for the disbandment of President Yoon’s ruling party, expressing frustration over the government’s actions. “We demand accountability,” one protester said. “The president must face the consequences of his decisions.”

In response to the mounting pressure, President Yoon addressed the nation earlier today, stating, “I’ll face impeachment, investigations, or whatever comes.” He vowed to fight “until the very last minute,” defending his decision regarding the martial law attempt.

The situation escalated as South Korean police raided the president’s office, intensifying the domestic political crisis. With a second impeachment vote looming, the country watches closely as events unfold.
