A Delta Air Lines plane flipped upside down upon landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday amid windy weather following a snowstorm.
The incident resulted in injuries to 17 of the 80 people on board, according to airport president Deborah Flint, who spoke at a news briefing.
The aircraft was attempting to land during challenging weather conditions when it overturned. Emergency services responded promptly to assist passengers and crew.
“Our thoughts are with those who were injured, and we are working closely with authorities to investigate the incident,” Flint said.
The injured passengers were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. There were no immediate reports of fatalities.
Flight operations at Toronto Pearson International Airport experienced delays due to the incident and adverse weather conditions.
