Emergency aid from the Red Cross Society of China has arrived in Mandalay, Myanmar, following a devastating magnitude-7.9 earthquake that struck the region.
On Wednesday, the first batch of supplies—including over 4,900 relief items such as tents, blankets, folding beds, and family kits—was delivered to support households affected by the disaster.
The Myanmar Red Cross, alongside a rescue team from the Red Cross Society of China that had previously entered Myanmar, will distribute the supplies and assist in setting up shelters for those displaced.
In addition to the material aid, the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar has contributed 1.5 million yuan (approximately $206,700) in cash assistance to support ongoing rescue efforts aimed at locating survivors.
The collaborative efforts underscore the strong ties between China and Myanmar during this crisis, as international support pours in to aid recovery and reconstruction.
