Hainan Province, China — Panda brothers Gong Gong and Shun Shun have been delighting visitors at the Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park and Botanical Garden for nearly seven years. These charismatic giants have settled comfortably into their tropical home in southern China, thanks to the dedicated care of the park’s zookeepers.

The duo spend their days exploring their lush enclosure, munching on bamboo, and engaging in playful antics that captivate audiences of all ages. The warmer climate of Hainan offers a unique environment for the pandas, differing from the cooler mountainous regions they originated from. Yet, Gong Gong and Shun Shun have adapted remarkably well, showcasing the resilience and adaptability of their species.

Their presence in Hainan not only brings joy to visitors but also raises awareness about wildlife conservation efforts in China. Giant pandas are a national treasure, and efforts to preserve their population have been a significant focus in recent years.

The Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park continues to provide a nurturing habitat for these beloved animals, emphasizing education and conservation. As the 5th edition of the Hainan Expo approaches, scheduled from April 13 to 18, Gong Gong and Shun Shun stand as star attractions, embodying the rich biodiversity that the province has to offer.
