Journalists Explore Shandong’s Culture and Innovation on Global Media Tour

Over 50 journalists from China and around the world embarked on an immersive journey through Shandong Province, uncovering its rich cultural heritage and cutting-edge innovations. The “China Up Close – Shandong Tour,” organized by China Media Group, kicked off on April 25 to showcase Shandong’s unique charm and developmental achievements to a global audience.

The media delegation visited Jining, the birthplace of Confucius, where they delved into the 2,500-year legacy of Qilu culture. In the maritime metropolis of Qingdao, they experienced the city’s vibrant coastal life and economic vitality. The tour continued to Yantai, a hub of coastal innovation, highlighting the region’s advancements in technology and industry.

In Yantai, CGTN reporter Liu Jiaxin hosted a dialogue with journalists from Slovenia, Slovakia, Cambodia, and South Africa. The discussion focused on cultural exchanges and cooperation, aiming to promote mutual understanding and friendship among nations.

“This tour has opened our eyes to the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity in Shandong,” said a journalist from Cambodia. “It’s inspiring to see how cultural heritage can coexist with innovation.”

The event emphasized the importance of international collaboration and provided an opportunity for journalists to share perspectives on cultural preservation and technological progress.
