The third China-Pacific Island Countries Foreign Ministers’ Meeting kicked off in Xiamen, Fujian Province, on May 28. The two-day event brought together leaders and diplomats from China and Pacific Island nations to enhance cooperation and discuss future development.
A highlight of the meeting was the “China-PICs Dialogue: Pacific Partnerships for Prosperity” roundtable, where diplomats from five Pacific Island nations—Niue, the Federated States of Micronesia, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji—gathered to strengthen ties and explore collaborative opportunities.
The dialogue focused on mutual interests such as sustainable development, climate change, and economic growth. Participants emphasized the importance of partnership and solidarity in addressing regional challenges and advancing shared prosperity.
