China and Hungary Forge Stronger Ties for Global Cooperation

In a significant move towards stronger international collaboration, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Szijjarto, in Beijing this Tuesday. The discussion centered on deepening the partnership between their nations and fostering a healthy relationship between China and the European Union (EU).

Earlier this year, in May, China and Hungary elevated their relationship to an “all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era.” This means that both countries are committed to working closely together, not just in fair weather but through all circumstances, reflecting a deep level of trust and cooperation.

“Hungary was the first European country to join China’s Belt and Road Initiative,” Wang Yi noted. The Belt and Road Initiative is a global development strategy aiming to enhance regional connectivity and embrace a brighter economic future. Wang Yi emphasized that their cooperation has brought fruitful results, showing that mutual respect and support lead to broad prospects.

He also expressed hope that the EU would continue to see China’s growth in a positive light and work towards stable and healthy China-EU relations.

Peter Szijjarto shared this optimism, stating that Hungary is eager to expand cooperation with China in various fields. “We look forward to increasing exchanges between our people and strengthening our friendship,” he said.

Both leaders highlighted their commitment to peace and an international system based on mutual respect. Szijjarto affirmed Hungary’s dedication to promoting positive EU-China relations and working with China to promote global peace and stability.

This meeting highlights the importance of international collaboration and the potential for countries to work together towards common goals, benefiting not only their own citizens but the global community as well.
