Xi Urges Implementation of Unsc Resolutions on Palestinian Question

Xi Jinping Urges UN Action for Peace in Palestine

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for the comprehensive and effective implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions to bring an immediate end to the conflict in Palestine. In a message to a UN meeting commemorating the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, President Xi emphasized that resolving the Palestinian question is crucial for peace and security in the Middle East.

“The fundamental solution is to establish an independent Palestinian state, fully sovereign, based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital,” Xi stated. He urged the restoration of the Palestinian people’s rights to statehood, survival, and return.

President Xi highlighted China’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause, advocating for unity among Palestinian factions and encouraging the implementation of the Beijing Declaration aimed at achieving internal reconciliation. He reaffirmed China’s backing of Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations and called for a more effective international peace conference.

Xi pledged that China would continue to work with the international community to promote an immediate ceasefire and support humanitarian efforts in Gaza, including assistance from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). He stressed the importance of returning the Palestinian issue to the path of a two-state solution for a comprehensive and lasting peace.
