Chengdu, China—China and Tajikistan have pledged to deepen their comprehensive cooperation during a high-level meeting in Chengdu. On Sunday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Tajikistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, in the southwestern city.
Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, expressed China’s support for Tajikistan in choosing a development path that suits its own national conditions. He emphasized China’s opposition to any external interference in Tajikistan’s internal affairs.
He called for both nations to support each other’s development and revitalization, aiming for tangible results through cooperative efforts.
Muhriddin, in Chengdu to attend the fifth China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, thanked China for its strong support in improving the livelihoods of the Tajik people. He reaffirmed Tajikistan’s firm commitment to the one-China principle and expressed eagerness to deepen all-round cooperation with China, inviting more Chinese enterprises to invest in Tajikistan.
The meeting highlights the strengthening ties between China and Tajikistan, as both countries aim to enhance collaboration across various sectors for mutual benefit and regional stability.
