Centcom Claims Defeating Houthi Attacks on Us Ships in Gulf of Aden

US Navy Thwarts Houthi Attacks in Gulf of Aden, Says CENTCOM

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that U.S. naval forces successfully defeated multiple attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels on U.S. Navy ships and U.S.-flagged vessels in the Gulf of Aden on November 30 and December 1.

According to a statement released by CENTCOM, the incidents did not result in any injuries or damage to any vessels, civilians, or navy personnel. “Our forces responded swiftly and effectively to ensure the safety of our vessels and crew,” the statement read.

The Gulf of Aden, a vital maritime route connecting the Middle East to the rest of the world, has been a hotspot of regional tensions. The Houthis, who control significant portions of Yemen, have previously engaged in hostile actions in these waters.

As of now, there has been no official response from the Houthi movement regarding the claims made by CENTCOM.
