When Macao tennis professional Marco Leung first stumbled upon pickleball, he had no idea the impact it would have on his life. This unique sport, blending elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis, captivated him instantly. Now, he’s on a mission to introduce this vibrant game to more people in Macao.
“I was just exploring new sports when I came across pickleball,” Leung shares. “The blend of different racket sports intrigued me, and once I played, I was hooked.”
Pickleball has been gaining popularity on China’s mainland, and with strong support from the Macao Special Administrative Region government for the sports industry, Leung believes the time is right for pickleball to shine.
“The government’s support for sports development is incredible,” Leung notes. “It’s the perfect opportunity to grow pickleball here and get more young people involved.”
Leung is planning to organize events and workshops to spread awareness and get the community excited about pickleball.
“It’s a fun, fast-paced sport that’s easy to pick up,” he says. “I can’t wait to see more people enjoying it as much as I do.”
