A tragic fire engulfed a three-story cafe in Hanoi on Wednesday night, leaving 11 people dead and shaking the local community. Authorities have arrested a man suspected of intentionally starting the blaze, Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security announced on Thursday.
According to police statements, the suspect confessed to igniting the fire using gasoline on the ground floor of the cafe following an argument with the staff. The flames rapidly spread throughout the building, trapping patrons and employees inside.
Emergency services rescued seven individuals from the inferno, with two people currently hospitalized due to their injuries. The identities of the victims have not yet been released as investigations continue.
This incident has raised concerns over public safety and conflict resolution. Officials are urging business owners to review security measures and for the community to remain vigilant.
