A vehicle drove into a large crowd at the intersection of Canal and Bourbon Street in New Orleans on Wednesday, leaving at least 10 people dead and 30 others injured, city authorities reported.

“There are 30 injured patients that have been transported by New Orleans Emergency Medical Services and 10 fatalities. Public safety partners are responding on scene,” NOLA Ready, the city’s emergency preparedness campaign, said in a statement.

The incident occurred in a bustling area known for its vibrant nightlife, attracting both tourists and locals. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and have urged the public to avoid the area.
