China Congratulates Indonesia on Becoming Full Member of Brics

China Welcomes Indonesia as Full BRICS Member

In a significant move for global cooperation, China has warmly congratulated Indonesia on becoming a full member of BRICS. A spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry announced the news on Monday, highlighting the strengthening ties among emerging economies.

Brazil, serving as the BRICS chair this year, released a statement announcing Indonesia’s official entry into the group, drawing widespread attention from the international community. The BRICS nations—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—represent some of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

The spokesperson emphasized Indonesia’s role as a major developing country and an influential force in the Global South. “Indonesia highly recognizes the BRICS spirit and has actively participated in ‘BRICS Plus’ cooperation,” the spokesperson said.

Indonesia’s membership is seen as serving the common interests of BRICS countries and the Global South. “We believe that Indonesia will make an active contribution to the development of BRICS,” the spokesperson added.

BRICS is viewed as a primary platform for promoting solidarity and cooperation among developing nations. The group is committed to multilateralism, fairness, justice, and common development. The inclusion of Indonesia follows the historic trend of the collective rise of the Global South.

China expressed readiness to collaborate with Indonesia and other BRICS members to build a more comprehensive, close, practical, and inclusive partnership. “We aim to advance the high-quality development of greater BRICS cooperation and contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind,” the spokesperson concluded.
