The Trump Administration has begun deploying active-duty troops to the U.S.-Mexico border, escalating efforts to curb illegal immigration. Pentagon officials have confirmed that 1,500 soldiers will be part of the initial deployment. However, multiple reports indicate that the number could surge to as many as 10,000 troops.

This move is in addition to the forces already present at the border. In states like Texas, National Guard units have been assisting border patrol agents for years, aiming to strengthen security along the border.

The deployment is part of President Donald Trump’s broader strategy to crack down on illegal immigration. The administration argues that the increased military presence is necessary to address what it describes as a growing crisis at the southern border.

Critics, however, question the necessity of such a large military deployment and express concerns over the militarization of the border region.
