Iran Vows Immediate Response to Any Attack on Nuclear Sites
Iran has issued a stern warning that it will respond swiftly and decisively to any attack on its nuclear facilities. Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stressed that Iran’s nuclear program is deeply ingrained within the country’s scientific community, making it impossible to destroy through military strikes.
In an exclusive interview with Qatar’s Al Jazeera TV network, Araghchi addressed recent threats from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding potential attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites, and the possibility of U.S. involvement.
“Iran’s nuclear program is rooted in the knowledge and expertise of our scientists. It’s not something that can be eliminated by bombs or missiles,” Araghchi stated. He highlighted that Iran’s nuclear facilities are dispersed across multiple locations, many of which are heavily fortified and protected by advanced air defense systems.
The foreign minister cautioned that any aggression towards Iran’s nuclear infrastructure would escalate into a widespread conflict. “Our reaction will be immediate and decisive,” he warned. “An attack would lead to an all-out war in the region—a catastrophe that nobody wants.”
Araghchi expressed doubt that the United States would participate in such an action, calling it a “big miscalculation.” He reaffirmed that while Iran has the capability to produce nuclear weapons, it chooses not to, as nuclear arms are not part of its military doctrine. “We ensure our security through other means, and we believe that nuclear weapons are forbidden,” he added.
The international community has long been concerned about Iran’s nuclear ambitions. However, Iran maintains that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, such as energy production and medical research.
As tensions rise, the global focus remains on diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation in the Middle East.
