A tragic accident early Saturday morning in southern Mexico’s Tabasco state has left at least 41 people dead, according to local authorities.

The disaster unfolded when a bus carrying 48 passengers collided with a truck on a highway. The impact caused the bus to burst into flames, engulfing it completely. Images from the scene reveal the charred remains of the vehicle, with only its metal frame left standing.

Local officials reported that among the deceased are 38 passengers, two bus drivers, and the driver of the truck. Seven survivors are currently receiving medical attention.

Recovery efforts are still ongoing as authorities investigate the cause of the collision. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting concerns over road safety in the region.

“It’s heartbreaking to witness such a loss of life,” a spokesperson for the Tabasco state government stated. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims during this difficult time.”
