Russia Says U.S. Firms Lost $300 Billion Since Ukraine Conflict Started

Moscow, Russia — The head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund has claimed that U.S. businesses have suffered losses totaling $300 billion since the onset of military action in Ukraine. Speaking on Tuesday at an investment conference in Riyadh, Kirill Dmitriev emphasized the financial impact on American companies that have withdrawn from the Russian market.

“The decision of U.S. businesses to leave Russia has led to significant economic consequences,” Dmitriev stated. “They have lost $300 billion in potential revenue.”

He also underscored the importance of dialogue between Russian and U.S. officials to bring an end to the ongoing conflict. “Constructive talks are essential to resolve the situation in Ukraine,” Dmitriev added. “Peaceful solutions will benefit not only our nations but the global economy as a whole.”

Since the beginning of the conflict, tensions have escalated between Russia and Western countries, leading to sanctions and a pullout of many international companies from the Russian market. This has disrupted global trade and raised concerns about economic stability worldwide.

Young people across the Global South are closely watching these developments, as the repercussions affect economies and opportunities far beyond the immediate region. The call for renewed negotiations reflects a shared desire for peace and a return to normalcy in international relations.
