The UK’s coastguard is in the midst of a major operation after reports of a collision between a tanker and a cargo ship off England’s northeastern coast.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency reported on Monday that the alarm was raised at 9:48 AM GMT. A Coastguard Rescue Helicopter from Humberside has been dispatched, along with lifeboats from Skegness, Bridlington, Mablethorpe, and Cleethorpes.
A fixed-wing aircraft and nearby vessels equipped with firefighting capabilities are also heading to the scene to assist.
“The incident remains ongoing,” the agency stated.
