South Korea Defeats China 9-6 in Women’s Curling Championship Thriller

In an electrifying match at the World Women’s Curling Championship in Uijeongbu, South Korea clinched a dramatic 9-6 victory over China on Monday, marking their fourth consecutive win in the tournament.

The hosts broke the deadlock in the third end, taking an early 2-0 lead. China fought back with a point in the fourth end, but South Korea responded swiftly, maintaining their edge. By the ninth end, South Korea had extended their advantage to 6-3 after adding two crucial points.

China’s Wang Rui showcased exceptional skill in the tenth end, delivering a brilliant play that knocked two South Korean stones off the button. This clutch move earned China three points, leveling the score at 6-6 and pushing the game into an extra end.

In the decisive eleventh end, Wang attempted to replicate her earlier success by dislodging South Korea’s closest stone. However, with no stones remaining on the button for her team, the pressure mounted. South Korea seized the moment, opting to drop their final stone to secure three points, sealing the game with a 9-6 triumph.

This victory hands China their second loss in four games, while South Korea remains undefeated, delighting the home crowd with their impressive performance.
