Macron to Host Crucial Ukraine Peace Talks in Paris Next Week

French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday plans to host a pivotal meeting of Ukraine’s allies in Paris next week, aiming to finalize strategies for securing a potential truce in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“We will hold another meeting of the coalition of the willing next Thursday in Paris, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in attendance,” Macron told reporters after an EU summit in Brussels. “We will finalize our work on immediate support for the Ukrainian army, on establishing a sustainable model for Ukraine’s armed forces to prevent future invasions, and on the security guarantees that European nations can provide.”

Macron, alongside other European leaders, has been spearheading efforts to form a strong coalition in support of Ukraine. “We have done extensive work with our partners on ways to support a credible ceasefire,” he said. “This will be an opportunity to discuss and fine-tune our approaches.”

The meeting comes amid ongoing tensions and seeks to bolster Ukraine’s defenses while paving the way for lasting peace in the region. “The entire process will be finalized in the next few days,” the French leader added.
