Devils End Three game Losing Streak with 5 3 Win over the Blackhawks

Devils Bounce Back: Triumph Over Blackhawks Ends Losing Streak

The New Jersey Devils snapped their three-game losing streak with a thrilling 5-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night. Rookie defenseman Luke Hughes shone brightly with three assists, while Jesper Bratt added two more, propelling the Devils back into the win column.

Nathan Bastian, Timo Meier, Ondrej Palat, Dawson Mercer, and Stefan Noesen each scored for New Jersey, showcasing the team’s depth and offensive prowess. Bratt, reaching a career-high 84 points this season, continues to be a vital contributor with four assists in his last three games.

Team captain Nico Hischier extended his point streak to eight games, assisting on Noesen’s empty-net goal. Since March 11, Hischier has tallied four goals and five assists, demonstrating his leadership on the ice.

The Devils burst out of the gate with two quick goals just 27 seconds apart in the first period. Bastian opened the scoring at 6:23, followed swiftly by Mercer’s power-play goal at 6:50, which came just five seconds into the man advantage.

Chicago fought back with goals from their forwards, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Devils’ momentum. The Blackhawks have now lost eight of their last ten games, struggling to find consistency as the season progresses.

This explosive performance marked a rare achievement for New Jersey, as they scored at even strength, on the power play, short-handed, and into an empty net all in one game—a feat they hadn’t accomplished in several seasons.

With this win, the Devils hope to build momentum as they push towards the playoffs, reigniting the energy and enthusiasm of their fans both at home and across the globe.
