Jiang Xinyu and Wu Fang-Hsien Advance to Miami Open Semifinals
In an impressive display of teamwork and skill, Jiang Xinyu of China and Wu Fang-Hsien of Chinese Taipei have secured their spot in the women’s doubles semifinals at the Miami Open. The duo triumphed over the Chinese pair Wang Xinyu and Zheng Saisai with a straight-sets victory of 6-3, 6-4 on Wednesday.
Jiang and Wu showcased a strong partnership on the court, serving four aces and converting four out of five break points. Their match lasted an hour and 20 minutes, during which they maintained consistent pressure on their opponents. Despite Wang and Zheng winning 70 percent of their first-serve points, unforced errors at critical moments cost them the match.
“We’re thrilled to have made it to the semifinals,” said Jiang Xinyu after the match. “Our communication and strategy were key factors in today’s victory.”
The victorious pair will face off against Russia’s Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider on Saturday for a place in the finals. The Russian duo advanced after defeating Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia and Peyton Stearns of the United States with a score of 5-7, 6-3, 10-4 in their quarterfinal match.
The upcoming semifinal promises to be a thrilling encounter, as both pairs have demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the tournament.
