At least one person was killed and five others were wounded in fresh U.S. airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, on Sunday evening, according to a statement from Houthi-run health authorities.
The strikes hit several locations across the city, causing significant damage and prompting emergency services to rush to the affected areas. Residents reported loud explosions and described scenes of chaos as people sought shelter.
“We call upon the international community to take immediate action to stop these attacks,” a spokesperson for the health authorities said. “Innocent civilians are bearing the brunt of this ongoing conflict.”
The U.S. military has not yet commented on the reported airstrikes. The incident adds to the mounting toll of a conflict that has devastated Yemen, leading to one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
