Intels New Ceo Tells Customers to be Brutally Honest with Us

Intel’s New CEO Lip-Bu Tan Urges ‘Brutal Honesty’ From Customers

Intel’s New CEO Lip-Bu Tan Calls for ‘Brutal Honesty’ to Drive Innovation

In his first public address as Intel’s new Chief Executive Officer, Lip-Bu Tan urged customers to be “brutally honest” with the company, emphasizing a new era of openness and innovation for the tech giant.

Speaking at Intel’s “Vision” event in Las Vegas, Tan highlighted his commitment to revitalizing Intel’s product development by working closely with engineers and directly incorporating customer feedback. “Please be brutally honest with us,” Tan told the audience. “I believe harsh feedback is most valuable.”

Tan stepped into the CEO role earlier this month with a mission to restore Intel’s dominance in the chip industry. Once a leader with over 90% market share in personal computers and data center servers, Intel has faced stiff competition from rivals like Nvidia in recent years.

Addressing the challenges, Tan acknowledged that Intel had “fallen far short” of customer expectations and outlined plans to streamline the company by eliminating unnecessary layers of management. “We’re going to really drive some new ideas, giving engineers freedom to innovate from within,” he said. “They have some brilliant ideas; they want to change the world, and that’s where I get excited to work closely with them.”

A key focus for Tan is recruiting and retaining top engineering talent. “We lost quite a bit of talent,” he admitted. “That’s my top priority, to recruit some of the best talent in the industry to come back and then to rejoin or join Intel.”

By fostering a culture of innovation and open dialogue, Tan aims to propel Intel back to the forefront of technology. His approach resonates with a new generation eager to see advancements in computing power and efficiency.

The tech world will be watching closely as Intel embarks on this transformative journey under Tan’s leadership.
