Chinese Divers Shine with Two More Golds at Guadalajara World Cup

Chinese divers wrapped up the World Aquatics Diving World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Sunday with a spectacular performance, securing two gold and two silver medals on the final day. This brings their total medal haul to seven golds and three silvers for the tournament.

In the women’s 10-meter synchronized platform, Zhang Minjie and Lu Wei dominated the competition with an outstanding score of 347.58 points. They outpaced the Mexican duo, Alejandra Estudillo Torres and Gabriela Agundez Garcia, by over 30 points. The Russian pair, Alexandra Kedrina and Anna Konanykhina, claimed the bronze with 302.10 points.

The women’s 3-meter springboard final was an exciting duel between teammates Chen Jia and Chen Yiwen. Chen Jia clinched the gold with a score of 380.55, edging out Chen Yiwen by just 7.65 points. Australia’s Maddison Keeney took home the bronze with 352.00 points.

In the men’s 3-meter synchronized springboard event, Mexico’s Osmar Olvera Ibarra and Juan Manuel Celaya Hernandez secured the gold with a score of 430.23 points. Chinese partners Hu Yukang and Zheng Jiuyuan earned the silver, finishing 17.07 points behind the leaders. Britain’s Anthony Harding and Jack Laugher rounded off the podium with 396.06 points.

Ukraine’s Oleksiy Sereda topped the men’s 10-meter platform, finishing with 295.30 points. Ruslan Ternovoi took silver with 276.05 points, while Jaxon Bowshire of Australia earned bronze with 275.50 points.

The next stop for the Diving World Cup will be in Windsor, Canada, from April 10 to 13, where athletes will continue to compete for top honors.
