China Dominates Mixed Team Event to Win Gold at Diving World Cup

China soared to victory at the World Aquatics Diving World Cup in Windsor, Canada, clinching the gold medal in the mixed 3-meter and 10-meter team event on Friday. The formidable quartet of Wang Zongyuan, Chen Yuxi, Chen Yiwen, and Cheng Zilong dominated the competition, finishing with an impressive total of 478.80 points.

Having claimed the title at the previous World Cup stop in Guadalajara, Mexico, earlier in April, the Chinese team continued their winning streak. Paris Olympic champion Chen Yiwen kicked off the event for China, delivering a stellar performance from the women’s 3-meter springboard that earned her 76.50 points.

Next up was fellow Paris gold medalist Wang Zongyuan, who added a remarkable 89.25 points, propelling China into a commanding lead. In the second round, Chen Yiwen teamed up with Cheng Zilong in the 3-meter synchronized springboard, securing 72 points and maintaining China’s top position with a cumulative score of 233.75.

Chen Yuxi then took to the women’s 10-meter platform, dazzling the judges with an impressive dive that scored 90.75 points. Despite Cheng Zilong’s subsequent individual dive yielding 70.30 points, he and Chen Yuxi closed out the event strong with 80 points in the 10-meter synchronized platform, sealing China’s decisive victory.

Mexico claimed the silver medal with 412.70 points, while Italy took home the bronze with 402.75 points. China’s outstanding performance reaffirms their position as a powerhouse in the world of diving, inspiring fans and aspiring athletes across the globe.
