Pakistan Warns of Potential Indian Military Strike Within 36 Hours

Islamabad, Pakistan — Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, announced on Wednesday that the nation has received credible intelligence indicating that India may be planning a military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours.

In a video statement, Tarar asserted that the alleged Indian military action is based on “baseless and concocted allegations” related to a recent incident in Pahalgam, located in the Indian-administered Kashmir region.

“India’s self-assumed hubristic role of the judge, jury, and executioner in the region is reckless and vehemently rejected,” Tarar stated. He emphasized that Pakistan had offered an “open-hearted, credible, transparent, and independent” investigation by a neutral commission of experts to uncover the facts behind the Pahalgam incident.

Tarar accused India of opting for “irrationality and confrontation over reasoned inquiry” and warned, “Any Indian military adventurism will be assuredly and decisively responded to.” He called on the international community to take note, stating that the responsibility for any escalation would rest with India.

The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.

Tensions between the two South Asian neighbors have escalated following a deadly attack on tourists in Pahalgam earlier this month, which reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 25 people, according to Indian media. India has accused Pakistan of involvement in the attack—an allegation Islamabad has strongly denied.

There has been no immediate response from Indian authorities regarding Tarar’s statements.
