Over 300 Killed in Paramilitary Attacks in Southwest Sudan

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been accused of launching deadly attacks in the city of Al-Nuhood in West Kordofan State, resulting in at least 300 deaths over the past two days, according to a statement released by the Sudanese Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

The ministry described the incidents as “crimes against humanity,” alleging that the killings were “carried out on an ethnic basis.” The attacks have intensified concerns over escalating violence in the region, which has been grappling with political instability and conflict.

“We urge the United Nations Security Council and the international community to intervene and put an end to the leniency towards the actions of the RSF,” the ministry’s statement read.

The RSF, a powerful paramilitary group in Sudan, has not yet responded to these allegations.

The conflict in Sudan has deep roots, with various armed groups fighting for control and influence. The situation has led to widespread humanitarian concerns, with civilians often caught in the crossfire of these clashes.

International observers are closely monitoring the developments, fearing that continued violence could further destabilize the region and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis.
