Idf Troops Fired in Direction of Diplomatic Delegation in Jenin

Israeli Troops Fire Warning Shots at Diplomatic Delegation in Jenin

Israeli military forces fired warning shots on Wednesday at a diplomatic delegation visiting the occupied West Bank city of Jenin after the group reportedly deviated from an approved route. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the delegation entered an unauthorized area, prompting soldiers operating in the area to respond.

“The delegation deviated from the approved route and entered an area where they were not authorized to be,” the military said in a statement. “Soldiers operating in the area fired warning shots.”

The incident has drawn condemnation from the Palestinian Authority, which criticized the use of live fire in the presence of diplomatic personnel. The Palestinian Authority called the actions “a serious escalation” and urged for international intervention.

The IDF confirmed that no injuries were reported and expressed regret over the incident. “The IDF regrets the inconvenience caused,” the statement added.

Jenin has been a focal point of tensions in recent months, with several clashes reported between Israeli forces and local residents. This event highlights the fragile security situation in the region and raises concerns about the safety of diplomatic missions.

International observers are closely monitoring the situation, urging all parties to exercise restraint and ensure the safety of civilians and diplomatic representatives.
