U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Apple, threatening a 25% tariff on iPhones sold in the United States if they are not manufactured domestically. In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “I had long ago informed Tim Cook of Apple that I expect their iPhones that will be sold in the United States of America will be manufactured and built in the United States, not India, or anyplace else.”
He added, “If that is not the case, a Tariff of at least 25% must be paid by Apple to the U.S.”
This announcement highlights the ongoing push to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States. A 25% tariff could significantly impact Apple’s production strategies, as the tech giant currently assembles most of its iPhones overseas.
