In Gumi, South Korea, China’s Liang Xiaojing sprinted her way to gold in the women’s 100-meter final at the Asian Athletics Championships on Wednesday. Clocking an impressive 11.37 seconds, Liang led the race from start to finish, showcasing her outstanding speed and determination.
Liang’s victory marks a significant milestone, as she becomes the first Chinese sprinter to win the women’s 100-meter event at the Asian Championships since Wei Yongli’s triumph in 2013.

In the men’s triple jump, Zhu Yaming dominated the field, leaping 17.06 meters—the only athlete to surpass the 17-meter mark—to claim the top spot.
Wang Qi secured the men’s hammer throw title with a powerful throw of 74.50 meters, while Niu Chunge soared to victory in the women’s pole vault by clearing 4.48 meters. Her compatriot, Xu Huiqin, took silver, making it a one-two finish for China in the event.
In the men’s decathlon, Fei Xiang topped the leaderboard, accumulating 7,634 points to clinch the gold medal. Meanwhile, Li Chunhui delivered a personal best of 4:10.58 in the women’s 1500 meters, earning her a well-deserved gold.
