China’s Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning Clinch Women’s Doubles Title at Indonesia Open

Chinese badminton stars Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning emerged victorious in the women’s doubles at the Indonesia Open on Sunday, showcasing remarkable resilience and teamwork. The duo triumphed over Malaysia’s Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan in a thrilling three-set match, finishing with scores of 23-25, 21-12, 21-19.

Reflecting on their performance, Tan Ning said, “I felt a little bit tired, so I tried to stay calm and give more opportunities to my partner. She played with growing confidence and did an amazing job. I aimed to support her and not make things difficult.”

In the women’s singles event, Wang Zhiyi secured the silver medal after a hard-fought battle against South Korea’s An Se-young, the reigning Olympic champion. The intense match tested the endurance of both athletes, culminating in a scoreline of 13-21, 21-19, 21-15.
