Two deputy commanders of Iran’s armed forces were killed in Israeli attacks, Iranian state media reported on Saturday. The announcement heightened tensions between the two nations, though the exact timing of their deaths remains unclear.
Since Friday, Israeli strikes have reportedly killed at least 78 people in Iran, including senior military officials. These attacks are among the most significant Israeli operations against Iran to date.
In retaliation, Iran launched attacks against Israel. The Fars News Agency, citing senior Iranian military officials, stated that Iran’s strikes will continue and may expand to include U.S. bases in the region in the coming days.
“This confrontation will not end with last night’s limited actions,” a senior official told Fars News Agency. “Iran’s strikes will continue, and this action will be very painful and regrettable for the aggressors.” Officials warned that the conflict could spread “to all areas occupied by this [Israeli] regime and American bases in the region.”
The escalating conflict has raised concerns about broader instability in the region, as both nations exchange military actions.
