Putin Condemns Israeli Strikes on Iran, Offers to Mediate

Moscow — Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned Israel’s recent strikes on Iran, calling them a violation of international law. In separate phone conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday, Putin expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions.

“President Putin stressed that Russia condemns Israel’s actions, which violate the UN Charter and international law,” the Kremlin said in an official statement. The Russian leader emphasized the need for restraint and dialogue to prevent further destabilization in the region.

During his call with Netanyahu, Putin offered Russia’s assistance as a mediator to defuse the situation. “He conveyed his readiness to provide mediation to prevent further escalation,” the statement added.

The Israeli strikes have raised alarm bells internationally, with many fearing a potential broader conflict in the Middle East. Iran has vowed to respond, increasing the stakes in an already volatile region.

Global leaders are watching closely as Russia steps into a potentially pivotal role. Putin’s offer to mediate marks a significant development, highlighting Russia’s influence in Middle Eastern affairs.

The international community is urging all parties involved to exercise caution and seek peaceful resolutions to avoid further conflict that could impact global stability.
