Duplantis Raises Pole Vault World Record to 628 Meters

Duplantis Soars to New Heights with 6.28m Pole Vault World Record

Armand Duplantis has once again pushed the limits of human achievement by setting a new pole vault world record of 6.28 meters at the Diamond League meet held at the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm on Sunday.

The 25-year-old Swedish sensation, already an Olympic and world champion, surpassed his own previous record by one centimeter on his very first attempt. This remarkable feat marks his 12th world record and holds special significance as it’s the first time he’s achieved it in front of his home crowd.

“It’s a magical feeling,” Duplantis shared after his record-breaking performance. “I wanted it so bad. I kept saying it was the only thing I was missing. Now, I’m done. I can just chill.”

Prior to the event, Duplantis had expressed his desire to set a world record on home soil, considering it one of his long-held dreams. The atmosphere in the stadium was electric as fans eagerly anticipated his every jump.

After effortlessly clearing 6.00 meters, Duplantis decided to raise the bar directly to 6.28 meters, bypassing his own meet record of 6.16 meters. Upon clearing the height, he celebrated exuberantly, tearing off his shirt and pumping his fist, much to the delight of the roaring sellout crowd.

Duplantis’s achievement not only cements his status as the world’s premier pole vaulter but also inspires a new generation of athletes to reach for new heights.
