Israel Says Struck Two F 14 Warplanes at Tehran Airport

Israel Claims Strikes on Iranian Fighter Jets at Tehran Airport

Israel’s military announced on Monday that it carried out drone strikes targeting two Iranian F-14 fighter jets at Tehran’s airport. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the jets were intended to intercept Israeli Air Force (IAF) aircraft.

“These jets were intended, among other things, to intercept IAF aircraft,” the military said in a statement. The IDF also reported that it thwarted an attempt to launch drones toward Israel.

Earlier in the day, the IDF reported that Israeli warplanes struck trucks carrying weapons and surface-to-air missile launchers moving from western Iran toward Tehran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the operations, saying, “The Israeli Air Force controls the skies over Tehran.” He added that Israel is moving toward achieving two main objectives: eliminating the nuclear threat and eliminating the missile threat.
