SpaceX Starship Test Rocket Explodes in Texas

A SpaceX rocket undergoing testing in Texas exploded Wednesday night, creating a spectacular fireball that lit up the sky. The incident occurred at about 11 p.m. at SpaceX’s Starbase facility, located at the southern tip of Texas.

The rocket, known as Starship, “experienced a major anomaly” while on the test stand ahead of its 10th flight test, according to a statement released by SpaceX on social platform X.

“A safety clear area around the site was maintained throughout the operation, and all personnel are safe and accounted for,” the company assured. SpaceX emphasized that there are no hazards to nearby communities but urged the public to stay away from the area as they work with local officials in response to the explosion.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX is developing the Starship rocket as a next-generation spacecraft designed for missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Despite this setback, the company remains committed to advancing space exploration and overcoming the challenges of rocket development.

While the explosion serves as a reminder of the risks involved in rocket testing, SpaceX’s focus on safety protocols ensured that no injuries occurred during the incident.
