A classified Defense Intelligence Agency assessment reportedly revealed that the bunker buster bombs used failed to destroy underground facilities completely, leaving some centrifuges intact.
High-ranking U.S. officials, including CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, maintain that the strikes inflicted significant damage. Ratcliffe stated that Iran’s key metal conversion facility at Isfahan was destroyed, hindering its ability to produce weapons-grade uranium. Hegseth dismissed reports suggesting uranium stockpiles were relocated before the strikes.

In Iran, reactions are also mixed. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged that the country’s nuclear facilities suffered “significant and serious damages,” but Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei downplayed the impact, stating the strikes were “unable to do anything important.”
