Over 20 Nations Urge Immediate End to Gaza War Amid Aid Concerns

London — More than 20 countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Japan, Australia, Canada, and Denmark, have called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza. In a joint statement released on Monday, the nations criticized the Israeli government’s aid delivery model following reports that hundreds of Palestinians were killed near food distribution sites.

“The Israeli government’s aid delivery model is dangerous, fuels instability, and deprives Gazans of human dignity,” the foreign ministers stated. They condemned the “drip feeding of aid and the inhumane killing of civilians,” noting that over 800 Palestinians have been killed while seeking assistance.

The majority of these casualties occurred near sites operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). Backed by the United States and Israel, the GHF was established to take over aid distribution in Gaza from a United Nations-led network.

The GHF employs private U.S. security and logistics companies to deliver supplies into Gaza, largely bypassing the UN-led system. Israel alleges that the former system allowed Hamas-led militants to loot aid shipments intended for civilians—a claim Hamas denies.

The United Nations has criticized the GHF’s model as unsafe and a breach of humanitarian impartiality standards, accusations that the GHF disputes. The international call for an end to the war and a reevaluation of aid delivery methods is particularly significant coming from nations traditionally allied with Israel and the U.S.

Global leaders are emphasizing the need for a humanitarian approach that ensures the safety and dignity of Gaza’s residents. As the conflict continues, the international community is urging all parties to prioritize the well-being of civilians and work towards a peaceful resolution.
