Cambodia Attacks Have Killed 11 Civilians Says Thai Health Minister

Thai Health Minister Accuses Cambodia of War Crimes After Deadly Border Clashes

Bangkok, Thailand — Thai Health Minister Somsak Thepsuthin announced that 11 Thai civilians and one soldier have been killed in the latest outbreak of border hostilities with Cambodia that began on Thursday.

Thepsuthin told reporters that Cambodia’s actions, including an alleged attack on a hospital, should be considered war crimes. “Attacking innocent civilians and a medical facility is a grave violation of international law,” he said during a press conference.

The clashes mark a significant escalation in the long-standing tensions along the Thailand-Cambodia border. While both nations have previously engaged in sporadic skirmishes over disputed territories, the targeting of civilians and medical facilities has intensified concerns over the humanitarian impact of the conflict.

Cambodian authorities have not yet commented on the accusations. International observers are urging both sides to exercise restraint and engage in diplomatic dialogue to de-escalate the situation.

The international community is closely watching the developments, fearing that continued hostilities could destabilize the region and lead to a broader conflict.
