Over 60 young leaders from China and Cyprus gathered at the European University Cyprus in Nicosia for the Third China-Cyprus Youth Forum. Focusing on strengthening ties between the two nations, they engaged in deep discussions on cultural exchange, digital transformation, and green development.
In his keynote speech, Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus Liu Yantao highlighted the profound impact of mutual learning between civilizations. “These are priorities for both China-Cyprus cooperation and China-EU relations,” he stated, encouraging the youth to deepen their mutual understanding and cooperation.
The forum concluded with the signing of the Nicosia Declaration. Participants pledged to actively engage in fields such as economy, trade, education, culture, and tourism. They committed to respecting the diversity of civilizations and promoting common values like peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom.
The young representatives also expressed their dedication to technological innovation, aiming to drive digital transformation and contribute to global scientific progress. Emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship, they vowed to promote green development and foster a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature.
Since its inception in 2021, the China-Cyprus Youth Forum has become a flagship initiative for youth exchanges, injecting vitality into the friendship and practical cooperation between the two countries.
