What better way to explore the natural beauty of east China’s Zhejiang Province than on two wheels? Katherine, a cycling enthusiast and project manager at Green Zhejiang from the United States, decided to do just that.
Setting off on a bike ride around Qiandao Lake, also known as the Thousand-Island Lake, Katherine embarked on a journey through some of China’s most breathtaking scenery. The lake, dotted with over a thousand verdant islands, offers a serene backdrop for adventurers and nature lovers alike.
“Cycling around Qiandao Lake is an incredible experience,” says Katherine. “The fresh air, the lush landscapes, and the sense of freedom you get while riding through such tranquil surroundings are unparalleled.”
Zhejiang Province has seen significant ecological transformation in recent years, focusing on sustainability and environmental preservation. Katherine’s journey highlights the region’s commitment to balancing development with nature.
“It’s inspiring to see how communities here are embracing eco-friendly practices,” Katherine adds. “I hope more people, especially young people, can experience this and become advocates for our planet.”
