Bwf Kumamoto Masters China Win Mens Singles Womens Doubles Titles

Li Shifeng and Chinese Duo Triumph at BWF Kumamoto Masters

In a remarkable display of skill, China’s Li Shifeng claimed victory at the BWF Kumamoto Masters men’s singles final in Japan on Sunday. The seventh seed ended his season-long drought by defeating Malaysia’s rising star Leong Jun Hao with a decisive 21-10, 21-13 win.

Li, ranked ninth in the world, had previously reached three finals since his triumph at the Hangzhou Asian Games in October 2023 but fell just short each time. This victory marks his first BWF World Tour title of 2024, showcasing his resilience and dedication.

Leong Jun Hao, the world number 31, was appearing in his first Super 500 final on badminton’s world tour. Despite his impressive run to the finals, he found it challenging to overcome Li’s experience and tactical prowess on the court.

In the women’s doubles, China’s formidable duo Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning secured the title by overpowering Japan’s Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto with a score of 21-15, 21-5. This win adds to their impressive record, making it their fifth title of the year and solidifying their position as the world’s number two pair.

The success of China’s players at the Kumamoto Masters highlights the nation’s strong presence in the badminton world, inspiring fans and aspiring athletes across the globe.
