Locals Capture Shocking Footage of Air Strikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah

Hodeidah, Yemen — Local residents in Yemen’s port city of Hodeidah have captured dramatic footage on their mobile phones of recent air strikes that struck key locations on Sunday evening. The attacks hit Hodeidah Port, Ras Isa Port, and two power stations, according to Yemeni authorities.

Health officials reported that at least four people were killed and 49 others injured in the strikes. The identities of the attackers have not been independently verified, and no group has claimed responsibility for the assaults.

The videos circulating on social media show explosions lighting up the night sky, with plumes of smoke rising from the targeted areas. The footage has brought global attention to the ongoing conflict in Yemen, highlighting the dangers faced by civilians caught in the crossfire.

One resident who witnessed the strikes described the scene as terrifying. “We heard loud explosions and saw flames. People were screaming and running. It was chaos,” they said.

The port city of Hodeidah has long been a strategic location in Yemen’s protracted conflict, serving as a crucial lifeline for humanitarian aid into the country. Attacks on such infrastructure exacerbate the already dire humanitarian situation, with millions in need of assistance.

International organizations have called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and urged all parties to protect civilians and vital infrastructure. The situation remains tense as locals brace for potential further attacks.
