Tens of Thousands Flee Lebanon for Syria Amid Israeli Attacks

Over the past week, tens of thousands of people have fled from Lebanon to neighboring Syria to escape Israeli attacks. According to Gonzalo Vargas Llosa, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees representative in Syria, more than 30,000 people crossed from Lebanon into Syria over a three-day period ending on September 27.

Families displaced by the conflict shared their stories of sudden upheaval. “We had a good lifestyle, and suddenly we became displaced,” said Khalil Al-Bazid, whose life has been turned upside down by the escalation.

The mass movement marks a significant shift in the region, with many seeking safety from the escalating tensions. The United Nations and humanitarian organizations are monitoring the situation closely as more people continue to cross the border.
